Our Story – How BihuKart Started

BihuKart.com was officially founded on 11 May 2025 with a vision to bring the rich cultural heritage, traditional foods, and handicrafts of Assam and the North East to customers across India with the theme "Celebrating Assam & North East Ethnic Culture"

While working closely with grassroots communities, we observed that many talented artisans and home-based producers create exceptional traditional products but struggle to reach larger markets. Their craftsmanship and heritage skills were often limited to local sales.

This inspired us to create BihuKart, a digital marketplace that connects local artisans, farmers, and traditional producers directly with customers who value authenticity, culture, and sustainability.

Handicrafts became a core focus because they represent the identity, history, and artistic legacy of our region.

Our Mission

Our mission is to promote and preserve traditional craftsmanship while supporting sustainable rural livelihoods.

  • ✅ Handmade by skilled local artisans
  • ✅ Made using traditional crafting techniques
  • ✅ Eco-friendly and sustainable natural materials
  • ✅ Preserving cultural heritage and indigenous knowledge
  • ✅ Supporting rural employment and artisan communities
  • ✅ Delivering authentic and high-quality regional products

🌍 Our Vision

We aim to make BihuKart a trusted marketplace representing the culture, food, and handicrafts of the North East, helping traditional artisans and local producers reach national and global markets while preserving their heritage.
